What We Do

Specialized Fly Ash Transportation

United Mega Movers provides specialized transportation services for fly ash, ensuring safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible handling from thermal power plants to various utilization points.

What is Fly Ash?

Fly ash is a fine powder that is a byproduct of burning pulverized coal in electric generation power plants. It consists of silicon dioxide, aluminum oxide, and calcium oxide – substances that can combine with water to form cementitious compounds.

When coal is burned, these mineral impurities in the coal (clay, feldspar, quartz, and shale) fuse in suspension and float out with the exhaust gases. As the fused material rises, it cools and solidifies into spherical glassy particles – fly ash.

Fly ash is collected from the exhaust gases by electrostatic precipitators or bag filters in coal-fired power plants before the gases reach the chimneys.

Sustainable Solution

Utilizing fly ash not only helps in reducing the environmental impact of coal combustion but also provides a valuable resource for various industries, contributing to circular economy principles.

Fly Ash
Did You Know?
  • India produces approximately 200 million tonnes of fly ash annually
  • Proper fly ash utilization can reduce CO₂ emissions by millions of tonnes
  • One tonne of fly ash used in cement production saves about one tonne of CO₂ emissions
  • The Government of India mandates 100% fly ash utilization by thermal power plants

End Uses

Fly Ash Applications

The fly ash we transport plays a crucial role in various industries, contributing to sustainable construction and manufacturing practices.

Cement Production

Fly ash serves as a partial replacement for Portland cement in concrete production, typically comprising 15-30% of the cementitious material. This application not only reduces the carbon footprint of cement production but also enhances concrete durability and strength.

Road Construction

Fly ash is utilized in road construction as a stabilizing agent for soil and as a component in asphalt pavements. It improves soil properties, reduces shrinkage cracks, and enhances the durability of road surfaces, making it an economical and environmentally friendly option.

Brick Manufacturing

Fly ash bricks are an eco-friendly alternative to traditional clay bricks. They utilize up to 80% fly ash mixed with lime, gypsum, and other materials. These bricks offer superior strength, uniformity, and thermal insulation while significantly reducing the environmental impact of brick production.

Land Reclamation

Fly ash can be used to reclaim low-lying areas, abandoned mines, and quarries. When properly managed, it can transform barren lands into usable spaces for development or agriculture. This application helps in effective waste management while creating valuable land resources.
